Pantry Cars of trains at Nagpur inspected under ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’

The Railway Ministry is observing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ (Cleanliness Fortnight) across its network from August 16 to 31. As part of this drive, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway undertook inspection of Pantry Cars of trains passing through Nagpur Railway Station, snacks stalls at station, base kitchen and canteens on Saturday, August 26.

A team of officials, inspectors, supervisors and station masters of Nagpur Division under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Brujesh Kumar Gupta carried out minute inspection of cleanliness in Pantry Cars, snacks stalls, base kitchen and canteens. The quality of snacks, foods was checked. The cleanliness of workers and rate lists were checked as well. The base kitchen is based at Ballarshah.

All catering units were directed to clean their premises and ensure that clean and hygienic food is served. Samples of food would be taken for checking and feedback of passengers obtained on the quality of food served. The catering and kitchen employees were issued necessary directive to maintain cleanliness of their working place as well as quality of the snacks and foods. The passengers travelling different trains were asked to fill up feedback forms regarding cleanliness at Pantry Cars, snack and food stalls, canteens etc.
