Pankaja Munde unaware of lathi-charge but still assures probe

fsdgNagpur: Reacting to the lathi charge on computer operators during demonstrations the Minister of State for Women and Children Welfare Pankaja Munde assured a thorough enquiry and action. Talking to media in the premises of Vidhan Bhavan, Munde said she has no information regarding lathi-charge but a delegation of demonstrators has met her and apprised of their demands. Talks are going on and the issue will be resolved soon.

It may be recalled that on Wednesday morning, the demonstration of computer operators under the banner of Maharashtra Rajya Sanganak Parichalak Sanghatna turned violent forcing the cops to retaliate with cane-charge. Many protesters including a few policemen were injured in the clashes.

The computer operators demanding salary of Rs 15,000 and other benefits had gathered in Nagpur from across the State. However, the demonstration turned violent at Tekdi Road forcing the cops to lathi-charge them.
