Celebration of birthday in and near water-bodies seems to result in fatality in recent times. Similar to what had occurred at Zilpi lake where four youth including one girl lost their lives, in another tragic incident occurred in Mungrul Lake in Wadhad village on Butibori Road, 7 city youth who had gone to celebrate the birthday of one of their friends, died as the boat in which they were travelling got capsized on March 22, 2015.

Tearful adieu accorded to the deceased
On Monday, the bodies of deceased victims were brought to the city and the post-mortem was performed at Government Medical College and Hospital. After the post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the families. The funeral procession of all the seven deceased youth was taken out jointly from Ashirwad Nagar to Manewada Crematorium. As a mark of respect to the departed souls and to show sympathy to the family members, all the shop-keepers and business-establishments downed their shutters and kept their businesses closed for the day voluntarily. Tears could not be withheld from the eyes of family members, neighbours, close acquaintances and friends. The last rites were performed at Manewada Crematorium amidst tears.

According to sources, the seven youth in the age group of 18 to 27 years old and all residents of Ayodhya Nagar and Ashirwad Nagar had gone to Mungrul Lake in Wadhad village on Butibori Road to celebrate the birthday of one of their friends.

Sources claimed that the boat had capsized when the youth on the boat were busy taking their selfies and an imbalance caused the boat to turn turtle and capsize in the lake.

Ten youth had gone to celebrate the birthday. However, three youth escaped the clutches of death since they had knowledge of swimming. The three youth are identified as Baba, Jahir and Sonu.

Events that moved the listeners to tears

Two youths Chetan Prakash Admane and Harshal Prakash Admane were brothers. Two youth were found holding each-other’s hands when they were fished out. They had probably attempted to help each other up. One of the deceased brothers Harshal Admane was to join his duty on Monday, March 23, 2015 at a Company in Buti Bori. It was his first service. Had he been alive, Monday would have been his first day of the first service. The parents of the deceased Admane brothers were left issue-less with the demise of the two siblings.
