Nagpur: Residents of Bhagwaghar Layout in Dharampeth have been grappling with a severe sewage overflow issue that has persisted for many days. Despite multiple complaints and appeals to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), no effective action has been taken to resolve the problem.
The situation has led to significant distress, particularly for the families of Mr. Rajeev Gupta and Dr. Joglekar, whose homes have been directly affected by the overflowing sewage. The health of children and household staff in these homes has been compromised, with several individuals falling ill due to the unsanitary conditions.
Mr. Rajeev Gupta expressed his frustration, stating, “We have been living in these unbearable conditions for many years now. Despite raising numerous complaints with the NMC, there has been no resolution. Our homes are inundated with sewage, and it is a serious health hazard.”
Dr. Joglekar added, “As a medical professional, I am deeply concerned about the health implications of this negligence. The NMC’s delayed action is unacceptable, and it is putting lives at risk.”
The residents have filed multiple complaints online and submitted written grievances to the Dharampeth Zone office and the Municipal Commissioner at Civil Lines, yet their pleas have gone unanswered.
