A meeting to organize Orange City Mayor’s Marathon under the auspices of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) with the participation citizens, lovers of sports, students, voluntary organizations and the staff of government, semi-government as well as private establishments, was held at Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Standing Committee Sabhagruh, NMC on June 15, at 11 am.
It was presided by NMC Mayor Pravin Datke in the prominent presence of Standing Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare, Leader of Ruling Party Dayashankar Tiwari, NMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Education Committee Chairperson Mrs Chetana Tank, Sports Commitee Chairman Harish Dikondwar, senior member Sunil Agrawal, Dy Commissioner R Z Siddiqi, Education Officer Ashok Talatule, Sharad Suryavanshi (Nagpur District Athletic Association) and others.
Various aspects of event (Marathon) were discussed with a view to start it in January 2016. Addressing the meeting, Mayor Pravin Datke said that further meetings, as and when required, will be held at intervals in order to give it a final shape. Such event is held by NMC every year, informed a press release issued by PRO, NMC.
