Nagpur: Sakkardara police have booked two persons including a Thane resident on the charges of duping several people to the tune of Rs 31 lakh in bogus land deals.

One of the complainants Lata Ghanshyam Bodkhe (63), resident of Kamgar Nagar, Sakkardara told police that the accused Raghunath Vitthalrao Thakre (60), resident of New Subhedar Layout and Ramkrishna Radheshyam Patil, native of Kopkhedi, Thane, approached her and many other people. The two accused told Lata and other people that they possessed a land in Nagpur and Thane and wanted to sell it by carving out plots. The accused even showed bogus maps of the land and then collected Rs 31,86,000 from Lata and other people towards the cost of land. The accused collected the amount from Lata and other people over a period from 2012 to 2014. However, both the accused did not hand over any land or plot to Lata and other people despite frequent demand and thus duped them to the tune of Rs 31,86,000. Finally, Lata and other duped citizens approached Sakkardara Police Station and registered a case with them.

API Fulakwar has registered an offence against the accused Raghunath Vitthalrao Thakre and Ramkrishna Radheshyam Patil under Sections 420, 34 of IPC and probing the matter further.
