Before-LeakNagpur: In yet another achievement, Orange City Water plugged a major leakage on the Laxminagar Main Supply Line that developed near CPWD Colony opposite Gajanan Maharaj Temple on WCL office to Futala road on April 13, at about 10
pm. The leakage was developed suddenly late in the evening and was very heavy.

Despit e it was raining heavily Monday evening, OCW’s team of technical experts under the guidance of CEO Mr. Sanjoy Roy, mobilized to the spot immediately and took up the repair works at 10:30 pm which continued till 2:00pm on 14th April 2015. These hectic efforts of 15 hours paid off and the affected water supply was normalized by 14th April afternoon in the affected areas.

It may be mentioned here since its start, i.e. in last 3 years, OCW has plugged various major and historic leakages like the one under Gowari Shahid Fly-over which persisted for about 12-13 years was finally plugged by OCW last year. Then came the leakage near Manas Square. OCW plugged one leakage at Manas Square in the month of December 2013 which saved the precious potable water literally from going down the drain. However, there was another leakage contributing to the UFW on the other side of Manas Square.
Recently OCW plugged major leakage at RAMDEOBABA GSR and saved almost 4 MLD water going in to drain every day. OCW’s team of experts worked day and night and finally plugged it in the month of December 2014.

The list of leakages plugged does not end here. There were leakages at Governor House Rear Gate, Gorewada, etc. All this were plugged by OCW’s Team of Experts. OCW has a dedicated team for the identification and arrest of invisible leakages. This team uses the ultramodern technique of leak detection which works on the principle of Ultrasonic Waves.

All this measures taken up by OCW shows its commitment towards strengthening of City’s water supply network and its concern towards conservation of water as all these arrested leakages have saved huge amount of water from going waste.
Meanwhile, because of sudden breakdown water supply in Laxmi Nagar Zone Abhyankar Nagar, Madhav Nagar, Shraddhanandpeth, Bajaj Nagar, Rahate Colony, Vasant Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Atre Layout, Tatya Tope Nagar, Kotwal Nagar, Areas getting water from Gayatri Nagar ESR, Areas getting water from Pande Layout ESR and Dharampeth Zone: Shivaji Nagar, Shankar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Daga Layout, Khare Town, Corporation Colony, Bhagwaghar Layout remained affected on April 14.
