Nagpur: The city-based National Youth Alliance (NYA) has strongly protested the recent intensive anti-encroachment drive launched by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in the city. “The drive is an absolute violation of the constitutional rights of poor people who are doing their businesses on roadside”, said Rahul Pande, President of NYA.

Pande further said, “Every person in this country has the right to do business of their choice. The Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B must not forget that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already declared these roadside vendors as an important part of our informal economy and even Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared financial package for these people after the first wave of Covid-19,” he stated and added that NMC must initially construct proper parking facilities before taking off these people from their livelihood.

National Youth Alliance (NYA) strongly opposed this unconstitutional activity and will take necessary steps in order to protect the rights of these poor people, said Rahul Pande.
