Nagpur: Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj University to hold its 106th convocation ceremony at Suresh Bhat Hall on January 19. This year’s ceremony will be observed with an ethnic twist. Well, the dress code for the male students will be Jodhpuri Suit along with Dhoti or Churidar for men and White Saree with scarfs for ladies.
The change is being followed to signify the tradition while glorifying the value of education.
Earlier Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) celebrated its 16th convocation on September 15 following a dress cod – shirt and pant for boys and traditional kurtis and sarees for girls.
Union Minister of Roads and Transport Nitin Gadkari, along with Chancellor CH. Vidyasagar Rao and Founder and Chairman of HCL Shiv Nadar will share the dais. Vice Chancellor S.V Kane informed in a press conference on January 17. He further informed that it will be first time that Chancellor CH. Vidyasagar Roa will be present for the convocation ceremony.
