Nagpur: Now it’s official. The next winter session of the state legislature will be held in Mumbai from November 19.

The session that commenced on July 4 here presented supplementary demands worth Rs 11,445-crore on the first day of the monsoon session of the state legislature. The first week was virtually washed out because of disruptions from the opposition even though technically there were 13 sittings in this monsoon session.

Of these, one sitting, July 6, had to be adjourned without any business due to power failure in Vidhan Bhavan following incessant rains.

The Maharashtra government was left red-faced after a flooded and dark Nagpur Vidhan Sabha led to the adjournment of both houses of the state legislature. The development has caused more embarrassment for the state government than it had anticipated.

Both, the state Assembly speaker Haribhau Bagde and the council chairman, Ramraje Nimbalkar recommend prorogation of the session and announced that the next winter session would be in Mumbai from November 19.
