Nagpur: The classic Nokia has got a modern touch with its recently launched handset Nokia 3310. It offers 3G connectivity. With 3G Internet in its repertoire, the new Nokia 3310 becomes a much more attractive option from the model launched earlier this year, which could access mobile data at 2G speeds only. The new HMD Global phone has been announced in the Australian market only for now, and is likely to be made available in more markets. As for the price, Nokia 3310 3G costs AUD 89.95 (roughly Rs. 4,600) in Australia, while its “global average price” will be EUR 69 (about Rs. 5,320), the company said in a post.
The Nokia 3310 3G was announced by HMD Chief Marketing Officer Pekka Rantala, who claimed that the company managed to sell “millions” units of the refreshed version of the Nokia 3310 across different markets. The handset will be going on sale in Australia starting October 16 and will be available via Optus and Vodafone mobile carriers.

Apart from the 3G connectivity, the new Nokia 3310 3G also comes with new customisation options for rearranging icons and choosing colour themes. The company is marketing it as all-new customisable retro UI.
The new Nokia 3310, much like its original sibling, features a massive standby time of up to a month, a highlight of the device. The new Nokia 3310 also includes the regular Micro-USB port and ditches the pin charger. It features Bluetooth 2.1 for pairing with speakers and other phones. The phone also features classic Snake game which has been optimised for the new colour screen.
For specifications, the Nokia 3310 3G sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) colour display. It runs on ‘Feature OS powered by Java’, as per the company’s site, and comes with 64MB storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB). On the back is a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash; the feature phone also offers FM radio. Nokia 3310 3G packs a removable 1200mAh battery that is claimed to offer 24 days of standby time for dual-SIM variant. It will be available in Azure, Charcoal, Warm Red, and Yellow colours. It measures 117×52.4×13.3mm and weighs roughly 88 grams for dual-SIM version.
