NMC’s Nuisance Detection Squad seizes 414 kg plastic, recovers Rs 26,000 fine

Nagpur: Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) took action against 5 establishments on Monday and recovered a fine of Rs 26,000.

In Dharampeth, Satranjipura and Lakadganj Zones, the Nuisance Detection Squad initiated action against 3 establishments in connection with banned plastic bags and a fine of Rs.15,000 was recovered and 414 kg of plastic was seized.

The Nuisance Detection Squad took action against Riddhi Packing Company of Mount Road, Sadar under Dharampeth Zone for using plastic bags and seized 400 kg of plastic and recovered a fine of Rs 5,000. Officials of Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board were present on this occasion. Action was taken against the shop Rakesh International near Nehru Statue, Jain Mandir under Satranjipura Zone and a fine of Rs 5,000 was collected. A fine of Rs 5,000 was also recovered from shop of Dashrath Dhangar at Bhandara Road, Pardi under Lakadganj Zone.

Similarly, action was taken against Shakti Bar and Restaurant at Gajanan Chowk under Nehrunagar Zone for dumping garbage along the road and a fine of Rs 6,000 was collected. Also, action was taken against Priyank Medicals at Ward No.6, Vaishalinagar under Ashinagar Zone for littering waste of the shop along the road and a fine of Rs.5,000 was collected.

This operation was carried out under the leadership of Veersen Tambe, chief of the Nuisance Detection Squad.
