NMC’s ‘hospital on wheels’ doesn’t even crawl… poor dog dies after 36 hrs!

Nagpur:
Nagpur Municipal Corporation has been bragging about its initiatives a lot but fetches too little on the performance! The civic body patted its back after it created space for pet cemetery near the Bhandewadi dumping yard, and now it added to its profile by availing mobile van for curing stray animal, which it named as ‘Hospital on Wheels’. Now the reality check! While the pet cemetery lacks proper arrangements to lay the dead animals to rest, the hospital on wheels turned out to be mere formality.

A glaring example of the situation surfaced when a stray dog lost its life due to apathy of concerned NMC officials. Despite repeated information to the NMC’s Dr Mahale, the dog lied injured and unattended for 36 hours after being knocked by a speeding car on Narendra Nagar ring road. The dog finally succumbed to injuries and breathed its last after a long struggle.
Amit, who witnessed the entire scene has narrated the incident on his facebook profile. He even sounded alert for NGOs as NMC turned blind eye towards his information.

Talking to Nagpur Today, Amit lambasted the civic authorities saying, “The dog died due to their apathy. Why they make tall claims when they are so inefficient to implement the initiative. I am sure the NMC just wanted to hog the limelight, get media attention and then forget to implement what it brags about!”

The Facebook status of Amit reads –
“URGENT HELP REQUIRED: A STRAY DOG, no stray to be said, HAS BEEN PINCHED BY A CAR, & HIS BACK BONE IS BEING PINCHED, IN AFTERNOON , I INFORMED DR MAHALE OF NMC WHO IS CHIEF VETERETNARY INCHARGE OF NMC FOR THEIR VETERNARY AMBULANCE SERVICE, BUT SINCE ITS MORE THAN 36 HOURS NMC HAS NOT RESPONDED, ANY NGO PLEASE HELP. THIS DOG WILL LOOSE HIS LIFE, I WAS DEPENDING ON NMC BUT NMC IS FULL OF FOOLS, GUYS ANY NGO PLEASE HELP , THIS DOG IS LIYING & WILL DIE, PLEASE HELP

WHY THIS ? IS MEDIA MAKING US FOOL? OR NMC MAKING US FOOL?
PLEASE RESPOND, WOH MAR JAYEGA BCHARA KUTTA ” (The dog will die)

Where was PFA?
Strangely, not even a single NGO appeared to help the ailing dog. The organisation named People of Animal who too bragged a lot about saving stray animals at the time of starting mobile veterinary services, also did not prove to be any help. Amit said that the incident has proved that all the hues and cries are made just to gain mileage from the media.
