NMC to undertake Shramdan at Ambazari Lake on Sunday as part of cleanliness drive

Nagpur: With the aim of making the city clean and beautiful, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is organizing “Shramdan” event under “Swachha Bharat Mission” from April 17 to May 29. The “Shramdan” will be held on a specific day in a week from 8 am to 10 am during the period in all the 10 Zones of NMC. The event will be led by Assistant Commissioners of respective zones.
The beginning was done on April 17 and 24. On May 2, Mayor Pravin Datke and Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Shingare joined officials and employees of NMC’s 10 Zone in carrying out cleanliness drive at Ambazari Lake Jogging Track and other area as a part of Shramdan. Now, again on May 10 (Sunday) the Shramdan programme will be undertaken at Ambazari Lake and its premises.

During the Shramdan, 10 parts of the Ambazari Lake and premises will be divided among 10 Zones for carrying out cleanliness drive. Every Zone will be given responsibility of 100 meters of the area for Shramdan. Approximately, 500 officials and employees are likely to participate in the Shramdan.

All the citizens and NGOs have also been urged to participate in the Shramdan at Amabazari Lake as part of Swacchata Mission in large numbers. Those interest can contact the Assistant Engineers or Health Officers of respective 10 Zones for proper coordination during the Shramdan.
