Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will be celebrating World Cycle Day on June 3 by organising a cycle rally in Nagpur. To make the event a grand success the ‘Cycle For Nagpur’ logo was also launched on Thursday by NMC Commissioner Radhakrishnan B.
On the occasion Nagpur’s Bicycle Mayor Dr Amit Samarth, Director of Department of Sports and Physical Education Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, NMC Education Officer Rajendra Pusekar, NMC Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Sushil Bansod, Dr Padmakar Charmode, Ashfaque Sheikh, Kailash Patle, Ganesh Wani, Pradip Deshpande, Jayant Mendhe, Ankit Shegaonkar, DilipWakad and others were present.
The rally will be flagged off on June 3 at 6.30 am from NMC Office, Civil Lines. The 16-km rally will move through Liberty Talkies Square, Chhaoni Square, Old Katol Naka, Japanese Garden Square, Ladies Club Square, Law College Square, Shankar Nagar Square, Jhansi Rani Square, Loha Pul New Under Pass, Mokshdham Square, Ashok Square, Reshimbagh Square, Jagnade Square, Gangabai Ghat Square, Telephone Exchange Square, Central Avenue, Mayo Hospital, Samvidhan Square and will culminate at the NMC Office.
Those interested in participating in the rally will have to log on to NMC’s website www.nmcnagpur.gov.in and enrol themselves online by clicking on the link ‘World Bicycle Day Rally Registration Form’. The last date of entry is May 31. Registered participants will get T-shirts from NMC. NMC has urged all the employees of government offices and students of schools, colleges to participate in the rally.
