Nagpur: In a major move to recover long-pending dues, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced the largest-ever auction of seized properties in the city, targeting defaulters who have failed to clear outstanding property tax despite repeated reminders. A total of 113 properties across multiple zones have been listed for auction to recover approximately Rs 1.91 crore.

According to officials from the Property Tax Department, auctioning of properties is initiated only after all other recovery mechanisms are exhausted. The civic body had earlier issued notices to property owners and urged them to pay dues, but after failing to secure compliance, the properties were seized and dates have now been finalized for auction.
