NMC tax collection camps receive tremendous response of citizens

Rs 32,54,727 recovered as tax on property

Nagpur: The tax collection camps organised in all ten zones of NMC on Aug 23, from 9 am to 1 pm, received a tremendous response of citizens, many of who also got their mutation works done done. There were received 356 cases pertaining to mutation of properties in the names of those eligible, of which 134 cases were sorted out on the spot. Similarly, there were 283 cases of taxes on properties of which 164 cases were settled by collecting tax dues from the owners. Total recovery made was Rs 32,54,727 from tax dues.

The camps were held zone-wise with formal inauguration by NMC officials and office-bearers in the presence of committee members. The Laxminagar Zone was inaugurated by NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar, who, in his inaugural address said that the responsible citizens would always pay their taxes in time, for they knew that all civic amenities, sanitation works and health services, etc, depend on taxes. He assured that various civic amenities would be developed once there was sufficient revenue. He referred to new taxation policy which has been made easy. Tax committee chairman Girish Deshmukh also expressed his views. He informed the citizens that the tax balance would be set right and in respect of solar water heaters in use suitable concession in general tax would be provided.

Similarly other zonal tax collection camps were inaugurated by various  dignitaries, such as, Dharampeth Zone by Dy Mayor Munna Pokalwar, Hanuman Nagar Zone by NMC standing committee chairman Ramesh Singare, Dhantoli Zone by Ruling party leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Nehru Nagar Zone by MLA Sudhakar Kohle, Gandhibagh Zone by MLA Vikas Kumbhare, Sataranjipura Zone by MLA  Krishna Khopde, Lakadganj Zone by Narendra Borkar, Ashinagar Zone by MLA Dr Milind Mane and Mangalwari Zone by zonal chairman Raju Thool.
