NMC takes giant step towards development of roads in city costing a whopping Rs 72 cr

Nagpur News: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), taking a big step towards development in the Second Capital, started construction of main roads and works of tarring of major roads.

The “Bhoomipujan” of the collective development works, at the cost of staggering Rs 72 crore, was performed by top BJP leader Nitin Gadkari at 10 am on Wednesday (January 15) at Bhagwan Nagar Square in Rameshwari.

The development works have been categorized as Unified Road Development Project, City Road Development Project and Main and Internal Road Development Project in different NMC Zones. The Mayor Anil Sole presided over the function.

The chief guests on the occasion were South West Nagpur MLA Devendra Fadnavis, Standing Committee Chairman Avinash Thakre, NMC Commissioner Shyam Wardhane, Ruling Party Leader in NMC Pravin Datke, Zone Chairperson Lata Yadav, Zone Chairman Raju Nagulwar, Estate Committee Chairman Sandeep Joshi, Ward Corporator and Health Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare, Corporators Sumitra Bahadure, Sharad Bante, Sumitra Jadhav, Jaishree Wadibhasme, Dr Safalata Ambatkar, Women and Children Welfare Committee Chairperson Ashvini Jichkar, Water Works Committee Chairman Sudhakar Kohale, Usha Nishitkar, RPI leader Raju Bahadure, South West’s Kishore Wankhede, South’s Kailash Chute and a large number of citizens of the area.
