Irregularities in Children’s Traffic Park continuing, but no action taken despite reminding the NMC with proof
Nagpur: Despite making tall claims that if any irregularities in NMC are pointed out with proof, it (NMC) would act promptly against the irregularities, it could not stick to its words even after Nagpur Today showed the mirror (proof) to it.
It may be mentioned that about a week ago, on November 25, 2015 the NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar, during a smart-city related press-conference, narrated various qualities attained by NMC including the Children’s Traffic Park as one of the most attractive features of the NMC.
During the press conference, when Nagpur Today raised the issue of tainted Traffic Park claimed to be owned by NMC but it is being badly misused at private hands (contractor), the NMC commissioner in the presence of Dr mayor Munna Pokulwar, Standing committee chairman Ramesh Sringare and Rulling party leader Dayashankar Tiwari demanded proof, because according to them, the Park cannot be run without NMC’s knowledge, and in case any irregularity is found, the NMC would act promptly against it.
Acting sharply, the Nagpur Today furnished as many as 10 pictures along with detailed news before them WhatsApp of NMC commissioner in terms of ongoing irregularities in the Park.
Surprisingly, till date neither the NMC commissioner has personally inspected the Traffic Park nor has sent his representative to take stock of situation in the Park. Does it not reveal that the NMC commissioner is functioning under pressure of Ruling party in the NMC?
According to sources, the Mayor, Dy Mayor, Standing committee chairman and Ruling party leader are keeping quiet because the under-veil partner of the contractor of Children’s Traffic Park is husband of a woman BJP-corporator in the NMC, and who once had been a corporator too.
Can such an anomaly make Nagpur a smart city? It is beyond the scope of understanding how common man and poor children are deprived of visiting Children’s Traffic Park without paying exorbitant frees, that too in Chief Minister’s home town which is going to be made a smart city as per Prime Minister’s concept.
