NMC school students’ novel gesture to save birds from summer vagaries

NMC School Students made house for Birds
Nagpur:
In a unique gesture to save sparrows and other birds from vagaries of scorching summer the students of NMC’s Vivekanand Nagar Hindi Middle and Higher Primary School carved out wooden nests out of broken benches for sparrows. The wooden nests were placed at none other than Mayor Pravin Datke’s residence. The students also created bird feeders out of cold drink plastic bottles and water bowls. All these three creations will be placed at the Mayor’s residence for sparrows and other birds. The novel gesture on the part of the students received an instant pat from the Mayor. The wooden nests and other stuff were made under the guidance of Arts Teacher Rajkumar Bombate.

Other personalities present on the occasion include Chairman of Education Committee Gopal Bohre, Headmistress of the school Dr Rashmi Durugkar, Rajani Waghade, the Arts Teacher Rajkumar Bombate, Assistant Public Relations Officer Pradeep Khardenavis and others.

The students who created the nests and other things include Sachin Pancheshwar and Birju Shahu (Class VII ‘A’), Mahesh Nishad and Vinod Verma (Class XIII ‘A’).
