NMC remembers Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Indira Gandhi

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Monday remembered the country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary today.

At a function held at Central Office of NMC in Civil Lines, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, and Corporator Neeta Thakre garlanded the portraits of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Indira Gandhi while paying tributes to them. The birth anniversary of Sardar Patel is also observed as National Unity Day. Tiwari administered the unity oath to those present on the occasion.

Other personalities present on the occasion include Corporators Rashmi Fadnavis, Sarika Nandurkar, Jayashree Wadibhasme, Pallavi Shamkule, Divvya Ghurde, Usha Nishitkar, Deputy Commissioner Ravindra Deotale, Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha, Executive Engineers Satish Neral, D D Jambhulkar, Garden Superintendent Sudhir Mate and other officials and employees.
