Nagpur: Swami Vivekanand, who gave the inspiring message “Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached” and Rajmata Jijau, a source of inspiration to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, were paid rich tributes on their birth anniversaries today by Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Municipal Commissioner Shrav Hardikar garlanded the oil portraits of Swami Vivekanand and Rajmata Jijau and remembered the great personalities.
Other officials present on the occasion include Additional Commissioner Dr Ramnath Sonavane, Addl Deputy Commissioner Jayant Dandegaonkar, Deputy Director (Audit) Amod Kumbhojkar, Corporation Secretary Harish Dubey, Assistant Commissioner (GAD) Mahesh Dhamecha, Executive Engineer (Electrical) Sanjay Jaiswal, Executive Engineer (Project) Naresh Borkar, Superintendent Vilas Fadnavis, PRO Ashok Kolhatkar, Branch Engineer Shrikant Deshpande and other officials.
Earlier, Dharampeth Zone Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Morone and Corporation Secretary Harish Dubey visited Vivekanad Smarak at Ambazari Overflow Point and paid their tributes.
