The function of World Health Day was held at NMC Hospital Gandhinagar, Nagpur, Dr Savita Meshram, health officer of NMC was in the chair. World Health Organization has reserved this year for prevention of insect bite and related health issues. The slogan of the programme is ‘Small Bite Big Threat’.
Smt Thote gave information about malaria, filarial, chicken gunia, she also informed about the ways to prevent generation of mosquitoes. Health officer, Dr Savita Meshram provided details about the prevention of these diseases.
NMC medical officers and paramedical staff present were directed to concentrate on the patients with insect borne diseases.
After Health Day, the programme will be implemented in all the ten zones of Nagpur Municipal Corporation with active participation of the people.
In the current year co-operation will be sought from NGOs for implementing the programme throughout the year.
Dr Dipankar Bhivgade proposed a vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
