NMC Clerk commits suicide by jumping from New Administrative Building

The New Administrative Building from where the Clerk committed suicideNagpur: In a sensational incident, a senior clerk of Waterworks department committed suicide by jumping from the NMC’s New Administrative Building in Civil Line area on November 29, 2014. The deceased has been identified as Pundalik Supare.

According to reports and sources, Pundalik reached his office as usual at 10 am and after working for some time, the Senior Clerk Pundlik Supare, aged 50 years and a resident of Hudkeshwar started feeling uneasy. He allegedly went to the roof while the co-workers assumed that he was going for some official work.

But to the shock of the employees, Pundalik jumped from the roof of the building and crashed on the ground with a loud thud.

People who witnessed Pundalik jumping and falling on the ground rushed towards the spot but alas Pundalik had died on the spot, after suffering from fatal head injuries. The incident triggered tremors in the NMC premises and top officials too rushed to the spot.

The Sadar Police Station was informed and the cops rushed to the spot. However, after completing the preliminary probe and paper formalities, the cops sent the body of Pundalik to Government Hospital for Post Mortem. Till the filing of this report, the reason behind Pundalik taking this extreme step could not be ascertained. Pundalik is survived by his  wife, a son and a daughter.
