Nagpur– Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s maiden Janta Darbar in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) was flooded with complaints from citizens affected by recent flooding in the city. The citizens expressed their frustration with the NMC’s laxity and chaos caused by the flooding, citing issues such as waterlogging, sewage backups, and potholed roads.
Gadkari directed the public health engineering department to investigate the complaints zone-wise and submit a report immediately. The grievances included water entering homes, choked sewer lines, and slow-paced development works. Citizens from Nagpur, as well as neighboring states and cities, including Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Nanded, Wardha, and Tavatmal, attended the Janta Darbar, seeking solutions to their problems.
Gadkari’s intervention has raised hopes for swift action to address the civic issues plaguing the city. The NMC has been tasked with investigating and resolving the complaints, ensuring that the citizens’ concerns are heard and addressed.
