Nagpur | November 5, 2026 Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi during the BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) campaign in Nagpur on Thursday, asserting that the party would continue to lose public support.
Taking a swipe at the Congress leadership, Gadkari said that no matter how much political drama the opposition creates, people will not vote for the party.
“However much you speak, the Congress will become weaker with every passing statement,” Gadkari said, targeting Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.
The Union Minister also accused the Congress of imposing the Emergency and misusing constitutional institutions, including the judiciary and the Election Commission.
Gadkari maintained that the BJP had protected democracy by removing the Congress from power and would continue working towards safeguarding democratic institutions.
Highlighting India’s diversity, Gadkari said that unity in diversity was one of the country’s defining strengths. He also asserted that the BJP does not discriminate against anyone and that protecting democracy remains one of its key objectives.
His remarks came amid an intensifying political confrontation between the BJP and Congress over allegations concerning electoral processes, constitutional institutions and the functioning of democracy.
The Nagpur campaign saw senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, taking the lead in the party’s outreach against the opposition.
