Bijnor: A NIA officer was shot dead while his wife was injured by bike-borne assailants while he along with his family was returning from the wedding of a relative in the wee hours here.
Tanzil Ahmad along with his wife and children was returning from a wedding when the attack took place.
“He along with his wife was returning from the wedding of his niece when two unidentified bike-borne persons stopped his car and shot at him.

He was declared dead at a nearby hospital,” Rajkumar, SHO, Bijnor, said. His wife sustained injuries in the attack and has been admitted to a hospital in Noida.
The official had gone to his home town Bijnor to attend the wedding. Police are investigating the matter.
