Newly elected BCCI president Advocate Shashank Manohar accorded warm welcome

manohar-nagpurNagpur: A warm welcome was given to Advocate Shashank Manohar who was elected unopposed as the BCCI president for a second time after a gap of four years after his arrival in the Orange City on Sunday evening.

Fire crackers were bursted at his residence in Dhantoli and hundreds of cricket lovers including Vidarbha Cricket Association officials reached Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport to welcome 58-year-old lawyer. His wife Varsha, daughter-in-law, VCA president Prakash Dixit and others were also present at the airport to receive him.

After attending special general body meeting of BCCI,Advocate Manohar reached Nagpur at 8.10 pm. by Air India flight. As soon as he came out of airport lobby, his supporters cheered him and jostled with each other to greet him. However, Advocate Manohar avoided to speak with media persons. ” I have nothing to say now. I have already speak with media in Mumbai”, he said.

Advocate Manohar who after the AGM said, his top priority is to restore the battered image of the Board, personally drove his white Mercedes to his Dhantoli residence where the people bursted fire crackers to welcome him. The celebrations were continued at his residence till late night.
