Newly built cement road in Siraspeth riddled with cracks, potholes

Nagpur: A newly constructed cement road has been found riddled with big cracks and potholes. The cement road, built a couple of months ago, in Siraspeth’s Gulab Baba Slums near Nalanda Buddha Vihar, is posing hazards to vehicles. Adding to the woes is non-functioning streetlights. A few days back, an ambulance got stuck in one of the potholes on the new cement road sparking anger among the residents.

Taking the matter seriously, a delegation of Aam Admi Party (AAP) submitted a memorandum to Assistant Commissioner of NMC’s Gandhibagh Zone. The AAP delegation demanded immediate repair of cracks and potholes on the cement road and strict action against the concerned contractor. The party has warned that id no steps are taken by the NMC, it will launch an intensified agitation.

The AAP delegation comprised of party’s Prabhag 18 President Kishore Chimurkar, Yuva Aghadi’s Vidarbha Region Convener Piyush Aakre, Vijay Dhakate, Central Nagpur Convener Laxmikant Dandekar, Kutul Aakre, Girish Titarmare, Lahanuji Umredkar, Chandrakumar Maundekar, Sjailesh Meshram and others.
