Nagpur: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Nagpur Police has not been able to trace the absconding Joshi brothers who grabbed the maximum amount in the Navodaya Bank scam. The fraudsters have been absconding for the past three years and the EoW is yet to get any clue about the accused persons.

Reports said, Vijay Kailash Joshi, Mukesh Kailash Joshi, Rakesh Kailash Joshi and Vikesh Kailash Joshi are accused in this case. Vikesh Joshi got bail in the Navodaya Bank scam, while the other brothers are still absconding. Many businessmen were duped of crores of rupees by the fraudsters.

Rahul Jain (38), a resident of Itwari, is one of the victims in the fraud. He was duped by Vikesh after getting conditional bail. Rahul was introduced to Vikesh through a friend. Vikesh befriended Jain. Vikesh had told Rahul that he would sell his house located in Poonapur complex of Pardi at a cheap rate as he needed money. He sold the house to Rahul for Rs 15 lakh, but after taking the money, he started giving excuses. Later, saying that the rate of the property has increased, he did the sale deed at Rs 30 lakh. Soon after, Rahul learnt that Vikesh had already sold the house to two persons. The same house was also mortgaged in PNB Bank, Manish Nagar.

On his complaint, the Pardi police had registered a case of cheating against Vikesh on December 24, 2021. Vikesh and his sister-in-law Komal Joshi also took possession of Rahul’s car as well. Giving a reason for a medical emergency, they asked Rahul for his car and took it away. The car was sold by them to a scrap dealer. Lakadganj police had registered a case against Vikesh and Komal on May 30, last year under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

Reports further said, a warrant was issued against Vikesh in a case registered at Tehsil police station. But he is continuously cheating people. Despite grabbing a maximum amount in the Navodaya Bank scam, the police are yet to nab the accused.
