Nation’s young inventors to hit Hackathon in Nagpur

Nagpur is all set to greet and meet a whole lot of young inventors on February 1 at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium for Mayor’s Innovation Award competition organized by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Around 500 groups registered themselves and 1,500 persons registered for the ‘Hackathon’.

The teams from Amravati, Pune, Dhamangaon and other cities will participate in the hackathon.

Mayor Nanda Jichkar while addressing a press conference said, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for RoadTransport and Highways will inaugurate the ‘Hackathon’ while Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be the chief guest.
Mayor Jichkar will chair the programme. S P Kane, Vice-Chancellor, RTMNU, Dr Bhushankumar Upadhyay, Commissioner of Police, Dileep Malkhede, Advisor AICTE will be the guests of honour. The participants will suggest new innovative ideas for crucial problems of the city.

Around 62 colleges will be participating in the mega event. Dr Prashant Kadu, convenor of Mayor Innovation Council said, “We have divided participants into four categories. They will discuess their ideas in these groups and will come out with presentation before the jury panels. The students will also get ideas from the experts in the programme.”

Besides, a musical rock band will also give live performance in the event.
During morning hours between 9 am and 11 am, a drawing competition will be organised on subject ‘My Ideal Nagpur’.
