National Karate from June 7

Nagpur News : As a joint endeavour of Vidarbha Amateur Karate Association and National Shotokan Karate Association, a National Karate Championship will commence from June 7 at Providence Girls School hall, Sadar.

The two-day event will witness participation from close to 400 karatekas hailing from Chattisgarh, Orissa, West bengal, Karnataka , Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Seemandhra, Assam and Rajasthan apart from local players. Competing in the individual kata and kumite and team kata and kumite events, there are both team and individual awards up for grabs in the martial arts extravaganza.

The top three teams on the medal tally will be declared as podium finishers while the best karateka will be honoured as the ‘Player of the Tournament’, as per the discretion of the jury.
