National Fire Service College celebrates Science Day

RSDNagpur: The National Fire Service College (NFSC), Rajnagar, Nagpur organized a function on Monday the February 29, 2016 to commemorate the historic discovery of the Raman Effect. Prominen personalities who graced the function include Director Shamim, Dr Natarajan, Dr Bopardikar, Vidhate , Sharma, Ms Sabbanwar and other staff from the NFSC Office in Civil Lines. Kausar Jahan and Bharadwaj delivered brief lectures highlighting the importance of the Science Day.

All students of the College participated in the programme. Dr V B Sapre , former Head of the Physics Department, Nagpur University was the chief guest and traced the background of Dr Raman much to the amazement of the audience. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Vidhate.

A poster presented by Basant Kumar Sunda, First Year B E Student of the National Fire Service College, on ‘Application of Science and Technology for Resource Management’ won the third prize at the Science and Engineering Fair organized recently by the Raman Science Centre, Nagpur. A group of about twenty students of First Year B.E (Fire Engineering) also attended a lecture on ‘Use of remote sensing in Rail Management’ by Prof G Shriniwas of Remote Sensing Centre, VNIT, Nagpur recently. Prof Vivek Sharma of NFSC, Rajnagar, Nagpur too attended the lecture.
