National activity planned by India Peace Centre on the occasion of World Peace Day

India Peace Centre is a non-profit organisation, established in 1988 that works primarily in the domain of Child & Youth Development, Gender, Water, Employment, Human Rights, Health, Energy & Environment, Specially Abled, Minority, Governance, Art & Culture and Agriculture.The primary focus area of the organisation is promoting interfaith dialogue and addressing global warming, nuclear disarmament, ecological and environmental concerns.

The International Day of Peace is celebrated to commemorate the day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace. India Peace Centre has been observing the Peace Day every year by conducting its mega event, the Peace Cycling Rally. This year, in view of pandemic protocols and in order to have a wider impact, an All India Speech Competition has been organized on the theme of Peace.

Explaining about the event, the coordinator and the acting Director of India Peace Centre Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal, said, “Entries are invited from resident Indians of all ages. The topic for the preliminary round is“What Constitutes Peace in the Indian Context. The participants must submit an audio recording of the duration of 3 minutes, through the following upload link:
https://forms.gle/Lw5gppSnUwG1TJvb9 . The speech may be in Hindi or English. There is no entry fee. “
“The entry must be submitted before 14th Sept., 2021. A team of jury will scrutinize the entries and will select top ten entries. The selected participants will be given another topic related to peace and they will present their speech in the Grand Finale on 21st Sept., 2021 using the Zoom platform. The details will be shared with the participants via email. The Grand Finale on 21st Sept will be open to public on registration. “, Dr Rawal said.

He further added, “All selected participants will get a Certificate of Participation, the winner and three runners up will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement. This is a great opportunity for the participants to express your views on creating a more peaceful society. It will also help participants to hone their oratory skills.”
