Nagpur: In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through administrative circles, a Naib Tehsildar posted in Nagpur district was found dead after allegedly dying by suicide at his residence in Wanadongri.
The deceased has been identified as Vaibhav Rameshwar Rathod, who was serving as a Naib Tehsildar in Mouda tehsil. He was residing with his family at Green Field Society in Wanadongri under the jurisdiction of MIDC Police Station.

According to police sources, Rathod was alone at home at the time of the incident, as his wife and two children had gone out of town to attend a family wedding. The incident came to light on Sunday evening around 7 pm, when his sister, who had arrived from Kalmanuri in Hingoli district, reached the flat and found the door locked from inside.
Despite repeated attempts to contact him and knocking on the door, there was no response. Growing suspicious, she alerted neighbours and informed the police. A team from MIDC Police Station rushed to the spot, forced open the door, and entered the flat.
Inside the bedroom, Rathod was found hanging from the ceiling. Police conducted a spot panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Preliminary inputs from locals suggest that Rathod had been under considerable stress in recent days and had withdrawn from social interactions. However, the exact reason behind the extreme step remains unclear.
Police have registered the case and initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
