Nagpur: Samiksha Singh, a boxer from Nagpur, claimed a gold medal in the recently held REC Open Talent Hunt Boxing Championship. The championship was held at Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Noida.
Samiksha won the gold medal in the sub-junior category in the 52 kgs weight category. In the final, Samiksha defeated her opponent Jehan Shah from Delhi 5-0. Around 36 boxers including 18 girls from Maharashtra took part in the championship and Samiksha became the only female pugilist to win a gold medal in the meet.
