The Nagpur Traffic Police have announced new regulations aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city. From August 20, 2025, private travel buses will be prohibited from picking up, dropping off, or parking anywhere on the Inner Ring Road or within its inner radius between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Private buses will be allowed to operate only from their designated private parking spaces. This move comes as part of a broader traffic management plan to tackle jams, pollution, and road safety risks in Nagpur.

Why the Restrictions Are Being Imposed

Nagpur has a population of nearly 30 lakh, with about 20 lakh two-wheelers and 5 lakh four-wheelers. Increasing vehicle numbers, ongoing development work, and the tendency of large buses to stop in narrow or busy areas have worsened traffic congestion, especially during rush hours.
