Nagpur: Track Star Athletic Club’s Mitali Bhoyar, representing Nagpur district, clinched a gold medal in the 38th Maharashtra State Junior Group Athletics Championship for U-14, U16, U-18 and U-20s.
The championship is being organised by Pune District Athletics Association under the auspices of Maharashtra State Athletics Association at Shivchhatrapati Krida Nagari, Balewadi, Pune’s synthetic track.
Participating in the 5000 metres run in the Under-20 girls category, 19-year-old Mitali clinched the gold medal in 17:58.70 seconds. In the same event, Namhya Foundation’s Arti Bhagat clinched the bronze medal (18:37.38s). Mitali is being coached by Ravindra Tong while Arti gets coaching from Gaurav Mirase, informed a release from Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Secretary, Nagpur District Athletics Association.
Ananya Mangar of BKCP Kanhan won silver medal in the Under-14 Triathlon with a timing of 1:46.73. In the boys category, Soumya Atish Nikode won the bronze medal (1:37.78).
