Nagpur: The Nagpur’s historic and traditional Kali-Pili Marbat festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm this Saturday. As thousands of citizens are expected to participate, the police administration has completed all security arrangements to ensure a peaceful celebration.
On Thursday, Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinderkumar Singal personally inspected the procession route and reviewed the overall security setup. He also issued necessary instructions to divisional officers, traffic police, and senior officials during the inspection.
Commissioner Singal said, “The Marbat procession is an inseparable part of Nagpur’s cultural identity. However, the police force is fully prepared to prevent any untoward incident during the traditional event. Police personnel will be deployed along the entire route, and we appeal to citizens to cooperate and maintain peace.”
Key security measures:
• Special police teams have been appointed for crowd control.
• Alternative traffic routes have been planned to avoid congestion.
• In case of emergencies, Quick Response Teams (QRTs), along with the Fire Brigade and Health Department, will remain on standby.
• The entire procession route will be under round-the-clock surveillance through CCTV cameras.
Administration’s appeal:
The administration has urged citizens to participate in the procession peacefully, respect tradition, ignore rumours, and extend full cooperation to the police.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Department has announced that certain traffic diversions will be enforced in the city during the Kali-Pili Marbat procession. Detailed guidelines on traffic changes will be issued separately for citizens’ convenience.
