Nagpur: A case of alleged extortion has been reported in the Tehsil police station area, where three youths allegedly demanded ₹20,000 per month from a tea stall operator. The accused allegedly first assaulted a two-wheeler rider and later reached a tea stall, where they allegedly threatened him with a knife.
According to the complaint filed by Sanjay Kharbikar, he was returning on his two-wheeler after visiting Panchpawaleshwar Temple. Near the railway gate before Panchpaoli, three youths allegedly came in front of his motorcycle outside Bhisikars’ tea stall.

When Kharbikar asked them to move aside, an argument reportedly broke out. The three allegedly abused and assaulted him. They also allegedly damaged his motorcycle by striking it with a stone lying on the road.
Kharbikar later went to the tea stall operated by his friend Chandrashekhar Bhisikhar. According to the complaint, the same three youths arrived there shortly afterwards and allegedly assaulted Kharbikar again.
When Chandrashekhar and his friends intervened, they were also allegedly threatened.
The complaint states that the accused allegedly brandished a knife and demanded ₹20,000 every month, threatening to kill the complainant if the money was not paid.
Based on the complaint, Tehsil Police registered a case against Soham alias Sonu Nimje, Akshay Dhakate and another accused. Nimje and Dhakate have been arrested, while police are searching for the third accused.
Police said Soham Nimje has previous cases registered against him, including cases related to the NDPS Act and illegal weapons. Akshay Dhakate is also reportedly involved in previous criminal cases.
