Nagpur News : Just as city residents began to think that the weather gods have thrown all the surprises that they could as they woke up to heavy rain on tuesday morning today, the climate has started to take yet another turn. Even after unprecedented thunder storms and untimely rains, the temperature continues to drop. The minimum temperature on Monday dipped to about 14.6 degree Celcius which is three degree below normal. The maximum temperature remained five degree below normal at 28.7 degree.

What has been observed over the past two days is that the cloud cover that had hovered above the city from the past 7 to 8 days had diminished considerably. Despite this the mercury continued on its downward slide. According to the Met office, there are strong chances that the rain and thunder storm that had stopped from the past two days may recommence. Reason being an upper air cyclonic circulation that presently lies above neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh.

Temperature in Washim fell to as low as 11.8 degree Celsius which was coldest in the region. Temperature in the month of March remain around 34 to 35 degree Celsius. According to experts temperature as low as this in March have not been witnessed in the past several years indicating towards a possible shift in weather, at least temporarily.
