
Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar police have arrested a 24-year-old man allegedly involved in vehicle thefts, solving five theft cases and recovering stolen property worth approximately ₹2.39 lakh. The accused was already wanted in two vehicle theft cases registered at other police stations in Nagpur.
Accused Arrested Near Railway Tracks
The arrested accused has been identified as Bikki alias Bittu Dehariya, a resident of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. According to police, he had been living in hiding in the Naik Talab area under the jurisdiction of Panchpaoli police station in Nagpur.
The accused was wanted in vehicle theft cases registered at Shantinagar and Hudkeshwar police stations. Police had been searching for him in connection with these cases.
Acting on a tip-off, Yashodhara Nagar police learned that the accused was likely to visit the area near the railway tracks at Vandevi Nagar. A police team laid a trap at the location and arrested him.
Stolen Property Worth ₹2.39 Lakh Recovered
During interrogation and following the accused’s disclosures, police reportedly solved five theft cases. Stolen property valued at approximately ₹2.39 lakh was recovered during the operation.
Police are continuing to question the accused to determine whether he was involved in other theft incidents. Investigators suspect that further leads may emerge as the investigation progresses.
