Nagpur University:MA exam deferred due to ‘paper leak’

Nagpur : Students continue to be on the receiving end of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) officials lackadaisical attitudes. M.A final year students could not appear for their English paper of winter examination after the question set bundle was opened before the examination started.

After it was found that the bundle was opened prior to the examination, university cancelled the examination. Previously, students had trouble finding all questions in the question paper which also brought to light the lax approach of NU officials during exam.

The incident took place at Shivaji Arts College in Rajura tehsil of Chandrapur district.

Controller of Examination, Vilas Ramteke at first denied reports of the paper leak. Due to the officials, the second bundle of question set was opened prior to the examination so we cancelled the examination, he informed. He said that the incident cannot be termed as a ‘paper leak’ as all question paper set were found to be intact. The count was not less, said the CoE.

Seeing this, the officials at the center will be given training to avoid any such further issues. It is noteworthy that one paper of the English subject of M.A was to be held on Tuesday in which 125 students were to appear.
However, the bundle was opened prior to the examination. A day later, the exam center officials informed the university of the incident. Pro-vice-chancellor,

Dr Maheshkumar Yenkie informed that the incident would be reported to the examination disciplinary committee.
After the report of the committee is received, further action will be taken, he added.
