Nagpur News : Some four to five student representatives of Prahar entered into the office of the Registrar of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) and after dragging the staff outside, they have reportedly locked themselves in. The registrar and the other officials are locked out and cannot enter into the office nor perform any official work.
According to report coming in , the representatives and leaders of various student welfare associations like NSRUI and PRAHAR, from Wardha, Chandrapur and Nagpur had started gathering in front of the RTMNU premises from morning of April 16, 2014 to press their long pending demands of “Jumping Facility”.
The authorities probably ignored all their demands, so they started raising slogans against the authorities of RTMNU.
Irked by being ignored and their demands not met in spite of many meetings and rallies, the student representatives of Prahar entered into the office of the Registrar of RTMNU and after dragging the staff outside, locked themselves in.
Since no one is able to get in touch with those students who are inside, no one knows what they are doing for the past 45 minutes.
The police personnel of Sitabuldi Police Station have already arrived at the spot and are keeping the other students at bay.
Students exit on own accord
At around 16:50 pm, the students who had locked themselves in came out on their own accord.
As soon as they came out, the Police personnel who were present right outside the door, frisked them thoroughly to check if they have taken anything from inside. After frisking them, they took the students to Sitabuldi Police Station for further action against them.
The students who had locked themselves in and held the varsity to ransom for one and a half hours (from 3:30 pm top 4:45pm) were identified as Rahul Dadmal, Akshay Yergude, Firoz Khan, Pappu Pramod Deshmukh who are activists of Prahar from Chandrapur
