Nagpur: With the Maharashtra Legislature’s Winter Session scheduled to begin on December 8, Nagpur has effectively transformed into a high-security zone. Security has been intensified around the Chief Minister’s residence, branch offices of the Mantralaya, and the entire Vidhan Bhavan complex.
Although the session will run for only eight days, more than 8,000 police personnel from across the State have been deployed in the city. Along with Nagpur City Police and teams from various districts, five companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) have also been positioned.
To strengthen security operations, five advanced vigilance vehicles, Home Guards, and 12 teams of bomb detection and disposal squads have been put on full preparedness. In addition, a special commando unit will remain stationed throughout the session period.
On Friday, the Police Commissioner inspected security arrangements in and around the Vidhan Bhavan premises and reviewed deployment across the city. Instructions were issued to ensure all systems remain fully alert.
The police administration has created a triple-layer security cover to ensure the Winter Session proceeds smoothly and without disruption. Further monitoring is underway.
