Nagpur: The moment Shreya Ghoshal began with “Apne hi rang me tujhko rang du”, the entire ground came alive. Her clear, emotive voice had thousands fully hooked. Day Ten of the Khasdar Sanskruti Mahotsav 2025 became one of the festival’s most memorable evenings.

Crowds had surged in long before showtime. Outside the Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education grounds, queues stretched from the afternoon onward. By 5 PM the venue was full to the brim. Many who couldn’t enter gathered around large LED screens outside, watching the performance from there. The turnout once again proved Nagpur’s fierce love for this cultural tradition.

Shreya delivered a magnetic set, moving effortlessly through favourites like “Sun Raha Hai Na Tu,” “Tum Kya Mile,” “Jadu Hai Nasha Hai,” “Diwani Mastani,” “Manwa Laage,” and “Barso Re.” She charmed Marathi listeners too with “Jiv Dangla” and “Baharala Ha Madhumas,” sparking waves of applause.

Before starting “Jeev Rangla,” she warmly praised composer duo Ajay–Atul, calling them an extraordinary team whose debut film had won a National Award. The gesture won even more hearts.

The evening also saw dignitaries in attendance. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari felicitated Shreya Ghoshal and Kinjal Chatterjee during the event. The Mahotsav began with ministers, editors, organisers and respected guests lighting the traditional lamp.

Local artists kept the energy rising. Guitarist Piyush Bhute opened with a soulful performance, followed by the Pralay Band, which set a devotional mood with a powerful Ganesh Vandana.

“Thank you, Nagpur,” said Nitin Gadkari, addressing the massive gathering. He noted that just as many people watched from outside as those inside. He apologised to those who couldn’t get entry and assured them that next year’s arrangements will ensure proper seating for all.

The night sealed itself as a reminder of Nagpur’s bond with music, culture and collective celebration — and how one artist’s voice can electrify an entire city.
