Nagpur: The semi final and final matches of Late Hemraj Wadhwani Memorial NVCC Inter Trade Association Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament were played on Sunday. The tournament was being organised by Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce to mark its Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The matches were played at Mecosabagh, Kadbi Square Ground. The chief guest on the occasion was Prashant Vaidya, Vice President of Vidarbha Cricket Association. The chief organiser of the tournament Kunal Prakash Wadhwani, other organisers Rohit Agrawal M/s Rohit Iron and Steel (I) Pvt Ltd), Rajesh Rokde (M/s Rokde Jewellers), Kantibhai Patel (M/s Geeta Pipes), and others were also present.
As some of the predicted, in the first semifinal, Nagpur Stainless Steel and Metal Merchants Association defeated Steel and Hardware Chamber of Vidarbha. Man of the match award was won by Manish Mishra of Steel and Hardware Chamber of Vidarbha. In the second semi final, Electrical Merchants Association defeated The Nagpur Malayalee Merchants Association. Man of the match award went to Vivek Karande of winning team.
In the final between Nagpur Stainless Steel and Metal Merchants Association and Electrical Merchants Association, the latter elected to bat first after winning the toss. The team scored 115 runs for loss of 7 wickets in allotted 12 overs. Chasing the score, Nagpur Stainless Steel and Metal Merchants Association achieved the target by hitting 118 runs for loss of 3 wickets in 10.2 overs and won the Late Hemraj Wadhwani Memorial NVCC Inter Trade Association Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament trophy.
The winning team was presented an attractive trophy and cash award at the hands of chief guest Prashant Vaidya. The runners up were also presented trophy and cash award at the hands of Kunal Wadhwani. The Man of the Series award was won by Sushil Gyahani of Nagpur Stainless Steel and Metal Merchants Association while the Best Batsman honour was bagged by Ram Mirani of Electrical Merchants Association. Manish Mishra of Steel and Hardware Chamber of Vidarbha won Best Bowler award while the Best Fielder was Jigar Bagdiya of Nagpur Stainless Steel and Metal Merchants Association.
Sunnybhai (M/s Sports World), Ritesh Amrani (M/s Rajkumar Electricals), Irfan Razzak, Kamalakar Decoration, Manoj Signed, Malhotra Printers, Sanket, scorers Nikhil Kalbande, umpires Mangesh Giripunje and Vikas Sutte contributed for success of the tournament.
