Nagpur: With just days left for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the Nagpur district administration has intensified efforts to complete the digitisation and verification of Enumeration Forms (EFs), particularly in urban constituencies where progress has been slow.
The Election Commission has extended the SIR deadline to August 17, prompting authorities to organise special camps to help voters complete the verification process.
Special Camps in South and West Nagpur
Deputy Collector and Electoral Registration Officer for Nagpur South, Shilpa Sonale, said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct special camps at all polling stations in the Nagpur South and Nagpur West Assembly constituencies on August 8 and 9.

Additional camps will be held on August 15 and 16, particularly to assist working professionals and voters who may not be available during regular door-to-door verification.
Officials have urged voters to submit their signed Enumeration Forms to their respective BLOs before August 17.
According to the administration, only voters who complete and submit the required forms will be considered for inclusion in the draft electoral roll scheduled to be published on August 24.
35% Voters in Nagpur South in ASD Category
The administration has raised concern over the high number of voters falling under the Absent, Shifted or Dead (ASD) category.
Officials said nearly 35% of voters currently listed in Nagpur South fall under this category and could potentially be left out of the draft electoral roll if their verification is not completed.
To prevent genuine voters from being excluded, zonal officers will publicly display and read out the names of ASD voters during the special camps.
Neighbours, relatives and other local residents will also be encouraged to help authorities contact such voters and ensure that their verification is completed before the deadline.
Only 54% Forms Submitted So Far
The administration has also highlighted the relatively low submission rate in Nagpur South.
As per Sonale, only around 54% of the Enumeration Forms distributed in the constituency have so far been submitted to BLOs.
The special camps are therefore expected to play a crucial role in improving the verification rate before August 17.
What Happens After Draft Electoral Roll?
Voters who find that their names are missing from the draft electoral roll, along with first-time eligible voters, will be able to seek inclusion through Form 6 between August 24 and September 23.
Corrections to existing electoral entries can be requested through Form 8, while objections to existing entries can be submitted using Form 7 during the same period.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 27. Eligible citizens will, however, continue to have the option of seeking inclusion or correction under the electoral roll’s continuous updating provisions.
