Nagpur Rural Police hold ‘Workshop and Discussion on Cyber Crime’

28.11.14Nagpur: Nagpur Rural Police organized a ‘Workshop and Discussion on Cyber Crime’ at its Headquarters in Teka Naka on November 28, 2014. The Workshop was presided over by Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) Dr Arti Singh.

The speakers included Cyber Crime Expert Advocate Mahendra Limaye, Cloud Forensic Chief Sachin Sathe, and Cell Phone Expert Rizwan Ahmed.

Others who attended the workshop included all Divisional Police Officers, Police Inspectors and other police personnel. The aim of the workshop was to create awareness about Cyber Crimes committed through internet and mobile phones.

While throwing light on the Cyber Crimes, Cyber Crime Expert Advocate Mahendra Limaye informed about various sections to deal with cyber crimes. He also informed about minute details of the cases to ensure the conviction of the perpetrators of the Cyber Crime.

Cloud Forensic Chief Sachin Sathe guided the gathering on how to collect Digital Evidence of Cyber Crimes and what precautions should be taken while collecting the evidence. He further guided the gathering about the precautionary steps while collecting evidence in Cyber Terrorism, Web-Site Hacking and other Computer based crimes. Sachin Sathe also informed about the gadgets used in Collecting and Investigating Cyber Crimes.

Cell Phone Expert Rizwan Ahmed in his speech said that in view of the growing number of Cyber Crimes, taking place in today’s Information Technology era, like Internet Banking (e-banking), Mobile Banking, On-Line Shopping, Facebook, Whatsapp and other crimes, the workshop will facilitate prevention of these crimes. He added that common people should take care that they should not fall prey to alluring offers of jobs, money/cash prizes during which the operator often demands the personnel confidential information like ATM code, Bank Account Number etc.
