Nagpur Round Table 83 holds Blood Donation Camp

Tablers DonatingNagpur: The sight of blood causes anxiety, alarm, fright and sometimes even fainting. But without blood there would be no transport of oxygen, regulation of temperature, or metabolism of our body. The blood plays the most vital role in our immune system, and supplies the tissues of our body with the nutrients they need. Blood is the most important bodily fluid we humans possess.

We would be incapable of running without blood. Blood is the sole component responsible for so many important operational functions taking place within our body. The reason the sight of it can cause so much distress, however, is because blood is supposed to stay inside of us — seeing blood means something is wrong.

To the young and healthy, donating blood is no loss at all since the amount of donated blood is produced within hours, while to the sick and ailing, blood often proves to be the only hope of life. One should Donate Blood to restore life. The young and active members of Nagpur Round Table 83 organized a Blood Donation Camp in association with Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank at Maheshwari Bhavan, Tekdi Road, Nagpur on the November 14, 2015.

Each unit of blood donated is supposed to save 3 lives and the satisfaction of knowing that the precious blood that they have donated may some precious life was very evident on the faces of all the 40 donors.

Mug and certificate given to everyoneThe camp was organized between 10am to 2pm and everyone who donated blood was presented with a certificate and a Coffee mug (designed by NAME IT) as a token of appreciation. A total of 40 units of blood were donated in the camp. Chairman of Nagpur Round Table-83 Gaurav Agarwal thanked all those present to support the cause. Those present on the occasion were Immediate Past Chairman of Area 3 Piyush Daga, Chairman NART-180 Alkesh Saraf, Chairman of NSRT-258 Samir Agrawal and other members of Nagpur Round Table 83, NART 180 and NSRT 258. A special thanks was accorded to Sharad Agrawal, who was the co-ordinator for the event.

Camp CollageDonation Boxes for raising funds for philanthropic endeavours
After the blood donation, a One Rupee Donation Box an initiative to raise funds for the long term project of Round Table India and Nagpur Round Table 83 of Freedom through Education. Nagpur Round Table 83 is making 3 classrooms for Uday Shikshan Sanstha for their school Jeevan Shikshan Vidyalaya at Untakhana near Medical Square, Nagpur this year. This project will benefit more than 150 students who will get free education from this organization.

Till now Nagpur Round Table 83 has built more than 20 classrooms in over 6 schools in and around Nagpur. Nagpur Round Table 83 plans to install around 50 donation boxes in prominent retail stores across the city.
